Warsaw to Gdańsk

On September 11, 2024, I left Warsaw after a few spots including the Polish Scouts and the Reagan Monument across from the Swiss Embassy. It was my first time cycling in Poland outside of Warsaw and I got a GPX track from a friend who rides to the sea side several times a year.

Day 1, September 11 - Getting out of Warsaw took some time - partly on bike paths that are usually excellent but sometimes the connections between the different sections can be tricky. I some places (luckily short ones) there are no bike trails and we have to deal with heavy traffic on what looks more like a highway while we ride on the side, on what looks like a walking path (pictures next time). When I arrived in the country side there were hardly any cars, aside from the occasional racing driver passing-by it was very safe and enjoyable.

After 83km, I found a fantastic hotel in Kondrajec, Harmony Park Stajnia 🐴 that serves as a horseback riding center during the summer season.

Day 2, September 12 - started well and I was making good progress until strong winds slowed me down. In the early afternoon I stoped at a gas station and pulled out my raincoat. When I got out it started raining, then pouring. I continued to the first train station and took the train to Gdansk. I watched as we passed Malbork... Next time 😉. Next stop: Gdansk.
