Rabac to Rijeka

Morning Pizza on the Adriatic coast - thank you Samir at

My morning start was to climb up from Rabac at sea level to Labin, 230 meters higher for a good warm up. When I arrived at the roundabout where I was to continue to my right I saw a Velo Kafe sign to the left - which meant going up another steep stretch on cobble stones... Could not resist.... When I arrived, the place looked great and people nice also. I asked if the owner is a cyclist and Daniel started laughing. He said that Velo in Croatian means "Big", I was at the "big" Caffé... I told him that I was tricked nby the sign to ride up there... but he said the cake was worth it and I fully agreed 🤣 👍 Strongly recommeded to cyclists and others too!

Velo Café is not a café for cyclists.... I was tricked!

I then continued to Rijeka, some 70km away by the scenic seaside road that provided for a splendid ride with a view of the sea below vertiginous cliffs that spooked me several times... You do not want to fall down there!
