Trieste in all its splendor

Today was dedicated to a morning ride and an afternoon of planning as I am about to enter Slovenia and cross into Croatia tomorrow morning. The section of the Eurovélo8 that appears on the maps between Trieste and Slovenia is apparently not recommended (strongly discouraged would be more appropriate) because of heavy truck traffic and lack of respect for cyclists (word for word what I was told). So it will be a ferry to Muggia that departs at 6h45 AM which does not really shorthen my ride but takes about 45 minutes. This is an investment in my safety so let's see how it works out tomorrow morning. Temperature expected minus 3...
